Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is submitted to the outside provider that returns those results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those search terms. When you contact us, we receive the information in your message and use it to respond.
Information Collected Automatically
Our host creates ordinary server logs, such as an IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. We review this information in aggregate to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or similar tools may also be used for basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How We Use Information
We use this limited information to operate the site, resolve technical problems, measure traffic, and improve content. We do not sell lists of visitors or create individual visitor profiles.
External Websites
Links may lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and outside search services. Their own privacy terms control information submitted on those services. This includes sponsored results supplied by a third party.
Who Can Receive Information
Providers that host or support Dayton Residents Directory may process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners can receive the automatic information described above. We disclose data only when valid legal process requires disclosure.
Safeguards
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described above. Because there are no accounts, the site does not maintain a visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor sent us information, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Information Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held by a website. The research did not verify a broad Ohio consumer-privacy statute granting a universal deletion right, so this policy keeps that statement general. Because we retain very little, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and server logs and removing what we find. Use the Contact page to ask. Records held by Ohio state, county, or city offices are outside our control; access to those records follows the Ohio Public Records Act, R.C. 149.43, and correction or removal requests belong with the custodian.
Updates to This Policy
We will post any revision to this policy here. Continuing to use the site after a revision means you accept the updated policy.
